# SIV Integration

> Vehicle information retrieval for motor insurance

SIV (Système d'Immatriculation des Véhicules) is the French vehicle registry system. The Korint platform integrates with SIV to fetch vehicle information for motor insurance policies.

## What We Fetch

The Korint platform uses SIV to retrieve vehicle information using the vehicle registration number (license plate):

* **Vehicle Make and Model**: Manufacturer and model name
* **Vehicle Year**: Year of manufacture
* **Engine Specifications**: Engine size, power, and fuel type
* **Registration Date**: When the vehicle was first registered

This information is used to auto-populate vehicle details during quoting and verify vehicle information for motor insurance policies.
